The White Spruce is a densely pyramidal evergreen conifer. The needles are dusty green to blue-green in color. This spruce is quite adaptable to diffucult conditions such as heat, cold and drought. It can be used as a single specimen or in groups and can also be used for hedges or windbreaks. The White Spruce can reach 40-60 ft tall and a width of 20-30 ft. It's hardy to zone 2. It does best in moist, well drained soil but will tolerate a fairly wide range of soil conditions. Full sun. Foliage will be more sparse in shade. Transplants well from containers or ball-and-burlapped.

Recommended Planting Instructions:

Scarification: Soak in water for 48 hours, change water each day. Stratification: None Required. Germination: Sow seed 1/8" deep, tamp soil, and mulch seed bed.
